Autumn Updates from the Gushlow & Cole Workshop

Autumn Updates from the Gushlow & Cole Workshop

We thought it was time for a little update from the Gushlow & Cole workshop. As ever, everything we do is centred around our values of slow fashion, British craftsmanship, and timeless shearling design

Here’s what we’ve been up to this season, from preparing deliveries for some of the world’s most iconic stores to putting the finishing touches on our Autumn 25 collection.

Behind the scenes: Bergdorf Goodman & Fortnum & Mason

This past week, our workshop has been buzzing with activity. We’ve been
hand-making shearling hats and scarves for Bergdorf Goodman in New York, as well as completing the final stitches for Fortnum & Mason’s September deliveries here in London.

There’s something truly special about knowing that pieces cut, stitched, and finished by hand in our English workshop will soon be sitting in two of the world’s most respected fashion destinations. Each hat and scarf is crafted using traditional fur machine and leather work techniques passed down through generations, proof that artisan skills and slow fashion still have a place in the modern fashion world.

Discover our latest handmade shearling accessories here.

A first look at the Autumn 25 collection

Alongside our wholesale work, the team has been carefully preparing the new
Autumn 25 collection, which will be launching online very soon. This season, we’ve played with proportion and texture, exploring how shearling can be worn in new and unexpected ways.

A few highlights from the collection include:

  • The Short-Sleeved Shearling Cardy – A versatile, easy-to-layer piece that offers lightweight warmth and an elevated alternative style to down. Cut with a relaxed silhouette, it’s the perfect transition item between autumn and winter.

  • Mongolian Shawl Scarves – Dramatic, soft, and lightweight, these scarves bring an element of texture and movement to any look. In the office, they’ve already become our firm favourites.

As always, each design is handmade in our workshop in small runs, where Emma and I make sure every cut and seam is made to last.

A new website coming soon

We’re also excited to share that a brand-new
Gushlow & Cole website is on its way. Our aim has always been to make shopping our collection as seamless and enjoyable as possible, and the new site will do just that.

You’ll find:

  • Easier browsing and clearer navigation.

  • More payment options to suit your needs.

  • Our latest styles available to order online, including new accessories and seasonal shearling outerwear.

We can’t wait for you to see it!

The making of Gushlow & Cole

One of the most rewarding parts of this year has been sharing our craft with you through our new ‘make’ videos. From the hum of our sewing machines to the hand-cutting of every shearling pattern, these films reveal the quiet details that go into creating each piece.

The response has been incredible, so thank you. For us, it’s a reminder that people still value the effort, patience, and care that artisan fashion requires.

If you haven’t had a chance to watch yet, you can explore them here.

We’d also love to hear your ideas. Is there a particular process you’d like us to film? Maybe you’d like to see how we press shearling, how a button is hand-stitched, or how one of your favourite designs is made. You can email us at customercare@gushlowandcole.com. We’d be delighted to bring your suggestions into our future videos.

Closing thoughts

As we move towards autumn, the workshop is alive with energy and ideas. Whether it’s crafting bespoke deliveries for Bergdorf Goodman, preparing new designs for our Autumn 25 launch, or filming behind the seams, our focus remains the same: to create responsible, beautifully made shearling pieces that will last for years to come.

Thank you, as always, for being part of this journey with us.

With love,

Emma & Katrina x
