Black Friday - why we won't be participating
After careful consideration, we have made the decision to not participate in Black Friday.
This is to protect our business and the challenging future of British artisan shearling makers.
At Gushlow & Cole, we work on a small scale, which differs greatly from many retailers and fashion brands. We make everything ourselves, in our workshop or locally, because our focus has always been on high-quality British make, making in small runs and for a fair price.
We don’t feel that following mass-discounting trends aligns with craftsmanship, working with high-quality natural materials and ultimately responsible fashion. The scale of our make also means our workshop cannot sustain heavy discounts or the effect of an influx of made-to-order pieces.
Instead, we have some exciting collaborations coming up, along with some fabulous seasonal offers, so please look out for these on our social media and in our emails.
With support from you – our growing G&C community, we know that our long heritage of passed-down knowledge and skill will survive if we stay true to what we do.
